Rustenburg: At its ordinary Council meeting held on 4 September 2025, Bojanala Platinum District Municipality Council took a decision to appoint Ms Edith Tukakgomo, as its new Municipal Manager, with effect from 1 October 2025, as per item B56/25/26.This, after the position became vacant since 2024.
Ms Tukakgomo commands vast experience in senior management, having worked for National, Provincial and Local Governments. She also worked for Government Entities and Private sector. She is bringing to the Municipality her over thirty-five years of experience. Ms Tukakgomo upholds principles of good governance as she served in several Governance Structures as a Board member.
She holds the following requisite academic qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Town and Regional Planning, Environmental Development and Social Science Qualifications.
- Several Certificates in Executive Leadership and Management including Financial Management.
The Municipality’s TROIKA (Executive Mayor, Speaker of Council and Single Whip of Council), all reassured her of their unequivocal support, as well as all employees, in execution of her duties. This was said during a welcome and induction session held recently.
The impressive career track record and relevant qualifications of the new Municipal Manager clearly demonstrate that she is equal the task and fit for purpose, of steering the municipality in the right direction of delivering quality services to communities of Bojanala Platinum District Municipality, whilst remaining steadfast and focused on improving the audit outcome at the end of the current financial year (2025/2026).
